An extremely thin spooled monofilament polyamide with two parallel strands. When used with two ends it's a perfect thread for tying small flies, while when used with a single thread it's suitable for tying all flies of extremely small sizes. It can even be used for slot tying, although a twister is required in order to close the twist.
